Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture alternating with buttermilk.
  4. Gently fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle optional cinnamon-sugar topping if desired. Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
