  • 6 oz fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 oz cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place silicone skull mold on a baking sheet, fill with mozzarella pearls, and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted.
  3. Press mozzarella down after removing from the oven and let cool.
  4. Increase oven temperature to 475°F (245°C).
  5. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, place cut side down on parchment-lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Slice baguette into half-inch pieces and toast on a separate baking sheet for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix basil pesto with black food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  8. Spread black pesto on toasted bread and return to oven for another 8-10 minutes.
  9. Top bruschetta with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls after removing from the oven.
  10. Serve on a platter drizzled with balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
