  • 6oz (3/4 Cup) Warm Water
  • 50 Grams (1/4 Cup) Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, browned
  • 1 Large Egg, at room temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon Dry Milk Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 5.3oz (2/3 Cup) Pure Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 Tablespoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 406 Grams – 468 Grams (3 1/43 3/4 Cup) All-Purpose Flour
  • 150 Grams (3/4 Cup) Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 3oz (6 Tablespoons) Butter, browned for frosting
  • 4oz Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2oz (1/4 Cup) Browned Butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • 180 Grams (1 1/2 Cups) Confectioners Sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix granulated sugar, browned butter, egg, dry milk powder, salt, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and activated yeast.
  3. Gradually add flour until dough forms; knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes.
  4. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Prepare filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice in a small bowl.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter and sprinkle filling evenly on top.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and cut into equal pieces.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise again (about 1 hour).
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for about 27 minutes until golden brown.
  10. While baking, prepare frosting by combining browned butter with cream cheese; add vanilla and heavy cream until smooth; gradually mix in powdered sugar until fluffy.
  11. Drizzle frosting on warm rolls before serving.
